The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program prepares advanced clinicians who oversee the care coordination of distinct groups of patients and actively provide direct patient care in complex situations. The CNL employs evidence-based practice in order to enable patients to benefit from the latest innovations in care delivery. The CNL evaluates patient outcomes, assesses cohort risk, and revises plans of care as necessary.
Students learn to apply advanced knowledge and research findings to practice through coursework and 500 hours of supervised clinical experience. Graduates of the program meet educational requirements for certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader by the Commission on Nurse Certification of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
