NURS 77900 - Family & Group Theories & Therapeutic Modalities This course provides a theoretical foundation for effective work with families and groups for diverse families and populations for psychiatric-mental health NPs. Discussed is family nursing, family theory and therapy, as well as self-help, professional lead group therapy, and group work in organizations. The course provides the learners with advanced family and group assessment skills and familiarity with a range of theory-based and evidenced-based family and group therapeutic modalities. Cultural competent group and families therapies as well as the ethical, legal and political aspects of family and group work will be covered.
prereq: NURS 70200, NURS 71700, NURS 74700, NURS 75000, NURS 77700 coreq: NURS 71900, NURS 74800, NURS 75100, NURS 77800 Hours 2 hrs. Credits 2 cr.
