MLS 70000 - Concepts of Disease: Diagnostic Strategies This course will explore newly described and established disease syndromes from the perspective of strategizing for effective laboratory diagnosis and management. Broad strategies such as classical biochemistry and cultivation, immunochemical, molecular or histochemical techniques are compared using original literature. Upon completion, students will be able to design a rational and cost effective laboratory strategy based on fundamental science; skills will also have application to biomedical laboratory research, assisting in the development of protocols for fundable projects.
