On May 10th, 2022 Hunter will be using a new Course Catalog system provided by CUNY that will look and feel different than the current version. This course will introduce Chinese phonetics, phonology, and the major sound transcription systems commonly used in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and found in Chinese dictionaries. Emphasis will be on acquiring accurate tones and standard pronunciation for English-speaking learners as well as learners who speak a Chinese dialect at home.
